As we witnessed during the Corona Virus Pandemic 2020 the importance of healthcare workers including doctors, nurses, ward boys, midwifes we have also realized how important is this job. The General Nursing and Midwifery course deal with the education of nurses to train them about taking care of individuals, families, and communities. Nurses are the main force who keep track of each patient in the hospital and take care of their medicines and health. Therefore, these nurses must be properly trained and understand the working of the medical field.
The duration of the General Nursing and Midwifery course is three and a half years. Students who wish to pursue the GNM course need to have passed the 10+2 level of education in the science stream from a recognized board. Minimum qualification marks required are 50% to be eligible to take admission in the GNM course.
The college course runs for three years and is followed by six months of the internship program. Students have to work in hospitals applying their knowledge practically during this training. This also helps the students to gain firsthand experience of how the job actually functions.
